Sarah Schwegel & the Bagley Flyers
Sarah Schwegel has spent more than a decade as the head volleyball coach of the Bagley Flyers, and has been a teacher at Bagley High School for even longer. But those titles don’t reflect all that she does. For Sarah, the job is making sure kids know they are never alone. That being a part of a team or a community means being there for each other and showing up for them, day after day.
In this episode of Local Heart, we spend a day in Bagley, Minnesota with Sarah. From the classroom in the morning to the gym in the afternoon, to the branch where she banks, she’s surrounded by people who know that Sarah genuinely cares about them, and that the feeling is mutual.
Why Sarah Chose a Bank With Those Same Values
Sarah and her husband started banking at NBC when they moved to Bagley. She uses the same words for her branch’s bankers that she uses for her own students: They teach her. They coach her. When she walks in, somebody asks how she’s doing today. They take a genuine interest in her life and in helping her make the most out of it. And that’s something only a true community bank can offer.
