Associate Spotlight – Andrew Sislo

What do you enjoy most about your role at NBC? What I enjoy most about my role is that it’s constantly changing. Technology is always evolving, and keeping up with it can sometimes be challenging. Installing a new system and implementing it into the NBC environment is very rewarding. I’m also lucky to work with a very knowledgeable team, which makes my job much easier.
What’s something your coworkers might be surprised to learn about how you approach your work? I like to get the IT team involved in as much as possible. The more someone knows about a system or application, the better we can support everyone. I also have an open-door policy. Anyone can always ask questions about anything.
What makes your branch or community special? I’ve been coaching and officiating in the area for many years, so seeing the sporting facilities NBC has helped make possible gives me a great sense of pride whenever I visit a field or basketball court. The joy on the kids’ faces during the first baseball game played at the NBC Spartan Complex is something I’ll never forget.
What’s your go to local restaurant or favorite meal? You can’t go wrong with a Superior classic, Shamrock Pizza.
What’s a piece of advice that has shaped how you work? Respect everyone. I had many great mentors who guided me from day one when I started at the bank more than 35 years ago. I hope I can do the same by helping others grow and advance in their careers.
If you could travel anywhere tomorrow, where would you go? Scotland. I’d love to visit St. Andrews and do some golfing. It would be an incredible experience to see where golf has been played since the 15th century.
